Hurricane Post

From Southern Maryland, my brother writes:
4pm. We just lost power in the building. When the electric company loses power, you know it's getting bad. I've relocated to command center. Company president just came in. Said gust just about knocked him down.

Hey, lights just came on.

Raining like hell.

Wind is 25 mph sustained. Gusts to 50 mph. Rain is 0.26/hr. The worst is supposed to be from 10 - 12 tonight.

Tried calling wife. Lines were busy. Got through on 4th try on cell.

4:30 County is evacuating along Patuxent river, including communtities of Golden Beach where some XXXXXXX employees live. My favorite restaurant, Tony's in Benedict is on pilings in the river. It's right accross the inlet from Golden beach. High tide, and the storm surge peak is at 11 tonight. I think I've eaten my last crab cake there. What a senseless waste....
