Wednesday, August 20, 2003Iraq and ChaosThe groundswell of criticism from the lefty loons has begun. The problems in Iraq are our fault. The looting, killing, bombing are the fault of the United States. How's that again? Unless the United States has developed a mind control weapon of surprising abilities, I don't see us making Iraqis steal, murder, or maim. Nor do I see us compelling terrorists from all over the Middle East to flock to Iraq. Indeed, I believe we are making every effort to actively discourage this sort of thing. So, how is it our fault? The lefty loons logic is thus:
The BBC says that Iraq is ungovernable. The Iraqis must deserve a brutal, criminal regime for their government because they are incapable of being peaceful under anything else. The Mirror quotes a former State Department flunky as calling our governance a spectacular failure. Given the violence in Northern Ireland, Moscow, and at the World Trade Center, I suppose he would make the same comments about the governance of Britain, Russia, and the United States. Given the backstabbing that routinely occurs in the State Department, that level of violence probably makes its governance a spectacular failure, too. Bob (Losing Badly) Graham, one of the many, many Democratic candidates for President, says: The distraction provided by Iraq has "allowed Osama bin Forgotten to get up off the mat". Yeah, Bob. That's why we've been seeing all those videos and hearing all those tapes from Mr. DRT (Dead Right There) himself. Face it, Bob, you failed to get a President from your own party to take any notice at all of terrorism, and now you just cannot stand the notion that a Republican is actually being effective in the battle. The French-looking John Kerry, Vietnam vet and traitor to those who he fought beside, says: "Today's deadly attack also underscores the need for the administration to quickly reassess the situation in Iraq,"' Kerry said. "It is becoming increasingly clear each day that the administration misread the situation on the ground in Iraq and lacks an adequate plan to win the peace and protect our troops." The war that Kerry fought in, before betraying his camrades in arms, cost Americans an average of 13 men per day. The average in Iraq is just about 1 per day. To me, that suggests that we have a plan. And, by the way, John (too French looking for America) Kerry, that it is working. BTW, if the Senators and Congressmen running for President are so concerned about the workings of government, they should be in Washington, voting, and doing the job we pay them to do, and that they were elected to do. Between them, they've missed 20-90 percent of all votes. If they won't do the job we pay them to do, why should we put them in another job and trust that they will do that job? You gotta earn the Presidency, guys, not slack off and hope we're too dumb to notice. -- posted by Chuck at Wednesday, August 20, 2003 | E-mail | Permalink | Main | 0 comments
