Tuesday, August 26, 2003   Hate Mongers Move West The third annual National Student Conference of the Palestine Solidarity Movement is moving from Rutgers to Ohio State University. Columbus - A student group supporting Palestinian rights decided yesterday to move its national conference to Ohio State University after controversy erupted in New Jersey about holding the meeting at Rutgers University, said a group spokeswoman. The three-day conference, tentatively scheduled for November, is sponsored by the Palestine Solidarity Movement, which is made up of student groups from universities across the United States and Canada. One goal of the group is to get universities to stop investing in companies that do business in Israel. Some Jewish groups have argued that the movement promotes anti-Semitic views, in part because its leaders refuse to denounce terrorism. The group's mission statement "rejects any form of hatred or discrimination against any group." But it adds, in part, "It is not our place to dictate the strategies or tactics adopted by the Palestinian people in their struggle for liberation."
