Friday, August 08, 2003   Gay Bishop To everyone attempting to advance the rights of a given minority, here's a big clue. Don't pick a morally bankrupt slug for your poster boy. Mike Tyson is not the ideal poster child for civil rights. Gene Robinson was the absolutely wrong choice to advance gay rights. His personal life feeds in to all the stereotypes about gay men, and does not bring either honor or dignity to the situation. He obviously cannot be trusted to keep a vow, nor should his current partner have any great reliance on his fidelity. And why a church that would ban the same behavior in a heterosexual wink at it when it's done by a homosexual? This is not Christian, nor Biblical, nor moral and just.
