Thursday, August 14, 2003Democracy in CaliforniaThe recall and election in California has loads pf people who normally rant about the rights of the "people" now saying "Well, we didn't mean those people." Gray Davis was elelcted Governor of California by being the top vote getter in the last election. More people voted for someone else. Now, Davis and the entrenched politicrats in the state capital have messed things up so bad that the "people" of California have organized a recall. Recalls are a good thing. They keep the dictatorship of democracy from happening. The majority, those in power, ignore the minority at the peril of recall. True democracy in action. Howard Veit says what I've been thinking all along: No matter how you put down this "recall" the fact is that once in a while democracy is going to rear its beautiful head in this country and whenever it does you can bet the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, and the rest of the media elite won't like it. The people, meaning all of us, will speak; not in one voice but in a non melodic cacophony of sound that elites cannot stand and will try to overturn. The liberals have already announced before the election that they will go to court to overturn the result they know they won't like. Because this recall is a warning to every lying politician in the country: you are NOT safe; be afraid of the people. Be very afraid. This "circus" out here is exactly what the framers of our country wanted. Actors, writers, plumbers, p0rn stars (well not p0rn stars), butchers, business people, everyone has a right to run and a chance to win. Get ready America.......California is real. -- posted by Chuck at Thursday, August 14, 2003 | E-mail | Permalink | Main | 0 comments
