I just thinking this weekend. Back in the 1960’s, for a few years, there were a lot of public service announcements about the dangers of blasting caps. What they looked like, what to do if you found one. I haven’t seen a PSA about them in 20-30 years. What was the deal? Was it just another media danger fad or did people leave them around a whole lot then stopped doing so?

I had a great interview for a job at Finger Lakes Community College a couple of weeks ago. It was for a job that I already have 11 years of experience handling, at another location. It was perfect.

I did not get it. I remain unemployed, though it appears that I may be able to collect additional NYS unemployment now that a year has passed.

I took one of my 401-K’s out, to fund us for a couple of months or so.

I am no longer an active EMT. I am renewing my certification but the political situation at the East Rochester Ambulance Corps is such that I could no longer remain active. Time to do something different for fun, I think.

I’m going to concentrate on writing for a few weeks, see if I can generate enough income. That work can be found under the Projects heading on the sidebar at Published Elsewhere. Reading my work will earn me a penny a click or so, and you would be welcome to forward the URL of anything you find worthwhile to friends, family and perfect strangers.
